Interview Transcript:

Scott McNealy
The most important thing to drive education to the next level, in my view, the Holy Grail, the secret sauce is going to be real time scoring, which will allow self paced, which will allow people to pursue their passions slow down when they can’t get it go faster when they do get it. And instead of No Child Left Behind, we have no parent, teacher or child held back, some people are going to want to see that continued $15 billion a year on textbooks and educational materials continue on and that’s kind of the oligopoly of the current players. And we’re part of the open community that says let’s share and be open and why should we pay $130 for a third grade math textbook when nothing’s happened since Newton got hit on ahead with an apple and when 10 plus 10 was is and will be 20 for a long period of time and, and weigh in, which is my other way. in.com w a y i n is a one to many conversation tool that is very popular among enterprises, very popular among sports and media environments, and allows you to have an interactive second screen conversation as a celebrity as a TV show as an enterprise as a government agency. And as a teacher, because we have the ability to create very quick conversations and questions with right answers and wrong answers. Make up your own answers, all kinds of very cool ideas. It’s all mobile based, real time zero polling, fatigue, zero authoring fatigue. Very, very graphical and with evocative pictures. It’s an exciting new way to change education. In fact, if you go to the creaky homepage, right on front is is some way in questions that you can answer and you develop demographics you develop and understand confirmed sentiment and most importantly, confirmed intent, which is what everybody is out after there’s, you know, 12 million people following Obama on Twitter, but how many lovin versus how many of them hate him? We don’t know. But with weigh in, and with twit polls, which is the latest product we’ve launched at twit polls.com, you can actually turn Twitter from a one to many broadcast, as his radio show is into a one to many conversation. And that’s that’s how we’re going to drive the internet and education and entertainment and government agencies hopefully into a more inversive and open and democratic and transparent world.

The American Dreams show was the brainchild of Alan Olsen, CPA, MBA. It was originally created to fill a specific need; often inexperienced entrepreneurs lacked basic information about raising capital and how to successfully start a business.

Alan sincerely wanted to respond to the many requests from aspiring entrepreneurs asking for the information and introductions they needed. But he had to find a way to help in which his venture capital clients and friends would not mind.

The American Dreams show became the solution, first as a radio show and now with YouTube videos as well. Always respectful of interview guest’s time, he’s able to give access to individuals information and inspiration previously inaccessible to the first-time entrepreneurs who need it most.

They can listen to venture capitalists and successful business people explain first-hand, how they got to where they are, how to start a company, how to overcome challenges, how they see the future evolving, opportunities, work-life balance and so much more.

American Dreams discusses many topics from some of the world’s most successful individuals about their secrets to life’s success. Topics from guest have included:

Creating purpose in life / Building a foundation for their life / Solving problems / Finding fulfillment through philanthropy and service / Becoming self-reliant / Enhancing effective leadership / Balancing family and work…
