Rita Whitney
I know all of my grandmother’s stories. You know, when she grew up in Savannah, Georgia, I know all those stories, and I’ve been writing them down for my daughter, because I know I’m thinking, I’m the only person that knows those stories. My siblings never listened to those stories. And when a short time I lived in Savannah, Georgia, I see somebody and I would say, I know this person’s story, I know these things. So I’ve been writing down all those stories for her, which is part of gets me excited about this storytelling project. We look at a products about an organization and you see numbers, you say, oh, yeah, they did this. And you see all this information about the fun factor. But it doesn’t really tell you what happened. You know what happened. And so in storytelling, you’re actually hearing the story there chapters of a story. Long story. So that’s one type of story. Second Story is a snapshot of a situation. You know, Michael Hamilton, taking kids out, you know, first time as an adult taking kids out on a tour. What was that, like? You know, that’s just a snapshot of that day of experience from his own personal feelings of hidden Villa and taking these kids out on that day. And then third type is the six word story. And thinking about hidden villa, six words would be beauty is all about the environment. Yeah, that’s just six words off the top of my head. But then if there was a situation that I had gone to, if I had gone on a farm tour, or seen some of the new lambs that were just born or the new piglets, it might be piglets, and new lambs. Eat a lot. Okay, okay. That’s seven words. It’s capturing those experiences before they’re gone. You know, people, they look back, you know, they sometimes they look back on their social media about what happened when, but you know, you’re missing all the stories. People don’t necessarily capture them. They are sending these messages out, but they’re not capturing the stories for their family. Businesses are now trying to capture these stories to help with their business to go with those numbers didn’t della.org We’ll be sending out information out to the public on the website, asking people for their stories because people have stories from the CSA pickups, you know the pickups for vegetables and they have stories about you know, when their kids were in camp and they have stories about just being on the beautiful trail in the sunrise

The American Dreams show was the brainchild of Alan Olsen, CPA, MBA. It was originally created to fill a specific need; often inexperienced entrepreneurs lacked basic information about raising capital and how to successfully start a business.

Alan sincerely wanted to respond to the many requests from aspiring entrepreneurs asking for the information and introductions they needed. But he had to find a way to help in which his venture capital clients and friends would not mind.

The American Dreams show became the solution, first as a radio show and now with YouTube videos as well. Always respectful of interview guest’s time, he’s able to give access to individuals information and inspiration previously inaccessible to the first-time entrepreneurs who need it most.

They can listen to venture capitalists and successful business people explain first-hand, how they got to where they are, how to start a company, how to overcome challenges, how they see the future evolving, opportunities, work-life balance and so much more.

American Dreams discusses many topics from some of the world’s most successful individuals about their secrets to life’s success. Topics from guest have included:

Creating purpose in life / Building a foundation for their life / Solving problems / Finding fulfillment through philanthropy and service / Becoming self-reliant / Enhancing effective leadership / Balancing family and work…
