Pindrop (Atlanta, Georgia)

Listening closely and you might hear about Pindrop. This company offers fraud protection and an authentication tool that is already being used by three of the top four banks. Pindrop’s service can even detect when someone is trying to steal your identity via a phone.

Nowait (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)

No one likes to wait in any line, but when you’re hungry the waiting game is that much worse. Well, courtesy of Nowait, you will wait no more. Thanks to this startup’s technology you can virtually hold your place in line at a restaurant, without leaving your home. It already has the backing of Yelp, Carnegie Mellon and others.

Hudl (Lincoln, Nebraska)

Last, but not least, is Hudl, which is a high tech tool geared towards sports teams. This company’s technology allows coaches and trainers record and upload video to its platform and then make notes, draw plays, write text and even record voice messages that they can share with their players.

Nucleus (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)

While home intercoms might not be the latest and greatest technology, Nucleus has big plans for this service. Already the company counts Amazon as one of its chief backers. Nucleus has built a touch-screen device that you can place outside of your home in any location you prefer. It responds to commands via Alexa, Amazon’s personal assistant technology.

OfferUp (Seattle, Washington)

Imagine Craigslist and eBay rolled up into one. What would that be like? Well, you don’t have to imagine anymore, thanks to OfferUp. This startup from Seattle, WA is a mobile-only hybrid of both these online giants. The company is already seeing huge numbers, with some reports suggesting people are spending the same number of hours on OfferUp as they do on Instagram and Snapchat.

Have you heard of Uptake? It helps companies in several industries improve their performance and safety by using software and analytics. It was started by Groupon cofounder, Brad Keywell and has the support of Caterpillar.

The American Dreams show was the brainchild of Alan Olsen, CPA, MBA. It was originally created to fill a specific need; often inexperienced entrepreneurs lacked basic information about raising capital and how to successfully start a business. Alan sincerely wanted to respond to the many requests from aspiring entrepreneurs asking for the information and introductions they needed. But he had to find a way to help in which his venture capital clients and friends would not mind.

The American Dreams show became the solution, first as a radio show and now with YouTube videos as well. Always respectful of interview guest’s time, he’s able to give access to individuals information and inspiration previously inaccessible to the first-time entrepreneurs who need it most. They can listen to venture capitalists and successful business people explain first-hand, how they got to where they are, how to start a company, how to overcome challenges, how they see the future evolving, opportunities, work-life balance and so much more..

American Dreams discusses many topics from some of the world’s most successful individuals about their secrets to life’s success. Topics from guest have included:

Creating purpose in life / Building a foundation for their life / Solving problems / Finding fulfillment through philanthropy and service / Becoming self-reliant / Enhancing effective leadership / Balancing family and work…
