You can’t go very far without seeing, hearing or reading about a new startup company. The fact is startup companies are practically a dime a dozen these days in just about every industry, especially the tech industry. Of course, startups will come and go and even some of the most promising companies end up on the scrap heap. Some of the more recent startups that have found success (some you’ve probably heard of and others maybe not), at least to this point include Uber, Lyft, Snapchat, Instagram, Slack and LuLaRoe. But for all the winners, there are dozens more that are either flailing along or that have already died an ignominious death.

So what about 2017? What does this year hold for the next wave of new startup companies? It’s impossible to predict right now the long-term results of these companies, but there are a few that you might want to pay close attention too, because their chances look better than most.
