Bio, Mitzi Perdue is an award-winning author and has had a lifelong fascination with what it takes to lead the best life. She got to watch up close and personal how her father co-founded and was President of the Sheraton Hotel chain, and she also got to watch how her late husband, Frank Perdue, built his father-and-son chicken company into a company that today employs 21,000 people.
Both men had tremendous focus, they had a penchant for action, and they had wide-ranging interests which led them to see opportunities that others missed. They were also men who developed tremendous talent stacks, and when they needed to learn a new skill, they made the time and took the effort to learn the new skill.
In addition, they were both family men to the core, and they loved and served their communities.
When three years ago, Mitzi became friends with Mark Victor Hansen (famous for the Chicken Soup for the Soul series) and his wife Crystal, she wondered how many of the same success traits she had observed in her husband and father would be found in Mark.
In this book, she draws on a lifetime of experience as a writer and as a student of what it takes to lead a full life to create a book that she hopes will encourage and inspire everyone who reads it.
Mitzi’s professional career includes being a former rice grower, past president of the 40,000-member American Agri-Women, and as a writer, in the 1990s, her nationally syndicated column, “The Environment and You,” was the most widely syndicated environmental column in the US.
Mitzi’s purpose in life is to encourage people to be all they can be. She believes that inspiration is the best gift one person can give another because inspiration provides people with energy and direction. She wrote Relentless with the goal of sharing Mark Victor Hansen’s astonishingly wise tips for growth and happiness, tips that can help people live fuller, more satisfying lives.
Bio, Dame Sheila B. Driscoll is a globally respected business leader who makes higher-purpose innovation™ happen. She is the CEO of Dame Venturus (DV) an interdisciplinary management consultancy, specializing in media & entertainment, product imagineering, food security, and philanthropic initiatives.
Sheila’s magical career journey began with a B.A. in Hispanic Studies and M.A. in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS). It was there she received a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to do post-graduate work in Deaf Education in Argentina, for one year.
Shortly afterwards Sheila returned to the United States to teach in Washington D.C. at the model school for the nation as a Dual Language Immersion Teacher. It was during this time that she received the Cafritz Teacher Fellowship Award, later serving as the “2000 Points of Light Education Reform and Policies Chair” for President George H. W. Bush.
Surrounded by some of America’s most successful entrepreneurs and philanthropists all her life, Sheila eventually combined her linguistic teaching expertise and natural creativity into DV. She has co-created with international clients and royal families of all social levels on business ventures as well as charity imperatives to private families, family offices and agencies.
Sheila’s purposeful ingenuity is behind a dynamic mix of IP achievements and enterprising undertakings in the world of product development, film, the co-founding of the Billionaire Foundation as well as her own charity, the Sheila B. Driscoll Foundation.
She is most proud of being the first woman appointed Chairwoman to the Nobel Sustainability Board and Trust and receiving the UAE Lifetime Achievement Award in business and philanthropy.
