Top Habits of the Highly Successful

There is no one-way to become successful in business. People from all walks of life in all kinds of industries have managed to reach high net worth status through various measures and habits. Not every successful individual has the same personality and they don’t all follow the same path to reach their lofty status. However, many highly successful people do share some similar characteristics. In fact, according to one man who spent five years gathering information from wealthy people who achieved their status through hard work, these individuals have numerous habits in common. So if you want to be successful then implementing these habits is a good place to start.

Multiple Income Sources

Highly successful people typically don’t rely on just one source of income. Instead, on average they have at least three separate streams of income.

Avoid Wasting Time

These self-made high-net-worth individuals also avoid wasting time at all cost. That means they avoid people and activities that waste their time, as well. The saying is true: time is money, and successful people understand this perfectly.

Early to Bed, Early to Rise

Nearly 90 percent of highly successful people get enough sleep: an average of 7 to 8 hours a night. That means they go to bed early, too, because more than half of them also get up at least three hours before they actually start work. This extra time in the morning gives them time to take care of personal things each day before they focus their attention on work.

Bookworms

Apparently successful people like to read, or at least they realize that it’s beneficial. Again, close to 90 percent of the individuals surveyed said they spend 30 minutes every day reading, mostly in an effort to improve or educate themselves; although reading in general is a habit that coincides with success.

Meditation

One of the best things that successful do to help themselves is to take some time out every day for some quiet thinking. Whether they use a few minutes to focus on their breathing, or spend 15 minutes just quietly thinking, they all make time to process what is going on in their lives and reflect on what they are doing.

Goals Are a Priority

Another common trait among self-made successful people is that they have a plan to get rich. They don’t sit back and just hope that things will happen. They set a plan and make it happen. That means they set their own goals and they pursue them until they accomplish them, both long and short-term.

Associate With Inspiring People

Highly successful people like to spend time with other highly successful people. That’s why they choose to spend their time with people that inspire them, instead of with people that have toxic or negative personalities.

Exercise

Exercise is great for a lot of things. It can help you lose weight and of course it improves your overall physical well being. However, getting some quality exercise in every day also improves your mind. It can help you clear your head, relieve stress and get you more motivated to complete everything you have to get done.

The American Dreams show was the brainchild of Alan Olsen, CPA, MBA. It was originally created to fill a specific need; often inexperienced entrepreneurs lacked basic information about raising capital and how to successfully start a business.

Alan sincerely wanted to respond to the many requests from aspiring entrepreneurs asking for the information and introductions they needed. But he had to find a way to help in which his venture capital clients and friends would not mind.

The American Dreams show became the solution, first as a radio show and now with YouTube videos as well. Always respectful of interview guest’s time, he’s able to give access to individuals information and inspiration previously inaccessible to the first-time entrepreneurs who need it most.

They can listen to venture capitalists and successful business people explain first-hand, how they got to where they are, how to start a company, how to overcome challenges, how they see the future evolving, opportunities, work-life balance and so much more..

American Dreams discusses many topics from some of the world’s most successful individuals about their secrets to life’s success. Topics from guest have included:

Creating purpose in life / Building a foundation for their life / Solving problems / Finding fulfillment through philanthropy and service / Becoming self-reliant / Enhancing effective leadership / Balancing family and work…
