Top 5 Best Places to Own a Home Overseas

Top 5 Best Places to Own a Home Overseas

Are you looking for the top 5 best places to own a home overseas?

If so, we have a few suggestions for you.

Medellin, Columbia

At first thought, you might not expect to find Columbia on this list, but the city of Medellin has so much to offer, making it a great place to own a vacation home. This city is considered very safe and it offers a euro-chic lifestyle with a warm climate and beautiful scenery.

In addition to the fantastic location, Columbia is also a great place to invest in property. Because of the nice exchange rate currently, the dollar is worth more pesos now than it has been in almost eight years. That means anyone with U.S. dollars is going to find a nice discount on just about everything.

ALGARVE, PORTUGAL

This beautiful coastal region has it all, with charming and historic culture, as well as gorgeous views. It’s also a safe place to visit outside of the U.S. and it’s generally English speaking. Plus, in addition to a weak euro, the property market is also down right now in the region, meaning it’s a great time to purchase a home.

If you’re looking for that old-world feel, this is a great fit. It’s not a bad match for those who like boating activities and golf, as well. The region also offers some other financial rewards, as this is one of the most popular tourists locations in Europe.

That means purchasing a vacation/rental property in the area at a bargain price is a great investment.

BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA

Argentina appears to be on the way back to better times, which means now is a great time to find a beautiful property while prices still remain low. Whether its Buenos Aires or Mendoza, you’ll find gorgeous scenery, plenty of excitement and culture to experience and a warm and welcoming lifestyle.

AMBERGRIS CAYE, BELIZE

No list would be complete without mentioning the Caribbean, and of course there are several great locations to choose from. However, Ambergris Caye in Belize takes the cake.

You’ll find tranquil beaches with white sand and just enough development to feel comfortable in your surroundings, but not too much to make you feel like you’re back in the city. It’s English speaking and the Barrier reef lies just offshore.

PANAMA

Panama may not get a lot of global recognition, other than it’s giant canal, but this Central America country is loaded with opportunity.

Thanks in large part to the Panama Canal, the country is very strong financially and it enjoys trading partners from around the globe. The country, which is home to roughly 3.5 million people, offers many different diverse settings, living options and great investment/vacation property opportunities.

The American Dreams show was the brainchild of Alan Olsen, CPA, MBA. It was originally created to fill a specific need; often inexperienced entrepreneurs lacked basic information about raising capital and how to successfully start a business.

Alan sincerely wanted to respond to the many requests from aspiring entrepreneurs asking for the information and introductions they needed. But he had to find a way to help in which his venture capital clients and friends would not mind.

The American Dreams show became the solution, first as a radio show and now with YouTube videos as well. Always respectful of interview guest’s time, he’s able to give access to individuals information and inspiration previously inaccessible to the first-time entrepreneurs who need it most.

They can listen to venture capitalists and successful business people explain first-hand, how they got to where they are, how to start a company, how to overcome challenges, how they see the future evolving, opportunities, work-life balance and so much more..

American Dreams discusses many topics from some of the world’s most successful individuals about their secrets to life’s success. Topics from guest have included:

Creating purpose in life / Building a foundation for their life / Solving problems / Finding fulfillment through philanthropy and service / Becoming self-reliant / Enhancing effective leadership / Balancing family and work…
